Occupational Therapy provides support to help individuals of all ages overcome physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges and engage in meaningful activities. It focuses on improving independence, daily living skills, social interactions, and achieving personal goals through customized plans, adaptive equipment, and environmental adjustments. Services may include assistance with personal care, household tasks, mobility, communication, and leisure activities, and can be delivered at home, in the community, or at work.
Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy (PT) are distinct healthcare professions with different focuses. OT supports individuals in achieving their goals and engaging in meaningful activities despite challenges. It includes daily living tasks, work, leisure, and social activities, using interventions like adaptive equipment and environmental modifications. PT, on the other hand, concentrates on physical rehabilitation, aiming to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve strength and flexibility. It involves exercises, manual therapy, and hydrotherapy to manage musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
For ongoing occupational therapy, our sessions are generally 1-hour appointments with 50 minutes of face to face or telehealth therapy and 10 minutes for documentation and treatment notes. However, therapy sessions can be reduced in length upon request.

Yes. To ensure that you get the service you need, when you need it, there may be instances when it is appropriate and preferable to receive your services via telehealth or video conference. We use Microsoft Teams or Zoom as our primary video technology platforms as they are easy to use and accessible. Our clinician will simply send a link to your email account for the agreed meeting time and then conduct our meeting over video. We are there to support you if you need help in getting set up, and we can complement telehealth or video conferencing with face to face services to customise your program to your individual needs.
Many of our clinicians have experience working with children and teenagers of all ages, their families and support workers, within their home, school and community environments.
